Inconel  718 Round Disc For Aerospace Engines And Energy Equipment.

Inconel 718 forging discs are key components in high temperature and high stress environments. Their manufacturing involves precision forging, heat treatment and strict quality control. They are widely used in aerospace engines and energy equipment.

Applicatipons:
Inconel 718 forging discs are mainly used for key components such as aircraft engines, gas turbines, rocket engines, etc., such as:

  1. Turbine discs (withstand high temperature and high pressure)
  2. Compressor discs (high speed, high stress)
  3. Bearing seats (corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance)

Forging process:
Forging of Inconel 718 requires strict control of temperature and deformation to ensure grain refinement and avoid cracks.

Forging temperature range: usually 950°C–1120°C (avoid forging in the range of 650°C–900°C to prevent σ phase precipitation and brittleness).

Forging method:

  • Ingot → Billet
  • Isothermal forging (precision control of temperature to improve uniformity)
  • Hot die forging (reduce residual stress)

Heat treatment:

  1. Solution treatment (usually 950°C–980°C, rapid cooling)
  2. Aging treatment (720°C × 8h + 620°C × 8h, to precipitate strengthening phase)

Industry Standards
Inconel 718 forging discs are produced in accordance with the following standards:

  • AMS 5662 / AMS 5663 (Aerospace Material Specification)
  • ASTM B637 (High Temperature Alloy Forging Standard)
  • ISO 15156-3 (Corrosion Resistance Standard for Oil and Gas Industry)

Core characteristics:

  1. High temperature performance: long-term working temperature can reach 700°C (1290°F), short-term resistance to 980°C (1800°F).
  2. High strength: yield strength (≥1030 MPa) and tensile strength (≥1240 MPa) far exceed ordinary stainless steel.
  3. Corrosion resistance: Resistant to chloride stress corrosion, oxidation, and sulfidation environments, suitable for acidic and marine environments.
  4. Processing friendliness: Mechanical properties can be further improved by age-hardening.
