Dingsco Monel K-500 (UNS N05500 / W.Nr. 2.4375) is an age-hardenable nickel-copper alloy forging bar that combines the outstanding corrosion resistance of Dingsco Monel 400 with approximately three times the yield strength. The enhanced mechanical properties are achieved through the addition of aluminum and titanium to the nickel-copper base, followed by controlled age hardening that precipitates submicroscopic Ni3(Ti, Al) particles throughout the matrix.

A defining characteristic of Dingsco Monel K-500 is its virtual non-magnetic behavior, even at extremely low temperatures, making it irreplaceable for sensitive electronic instrumentation and oil-well surveying equipment. The alloy maintains excellent ductility and impact toughness across a wide temperature range while resisting corrosion in seawater, hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid, and alkaline environments.

  3. Controlled Cooling: Furnace cool at 15–25°F (8–14°C) per hour to 900°F (482°C)
  4. Final Cooling: From 900°F to room temperature — furnace cool, air cool, or quench without rate restriction

Note: Age hardening causes an initial volume contraction of approximately 2.5 × 10⁻⁴ in/in.
