Inconel 600 Round Bars
Oil and Gas Application Corrosion Resistant Inconel 600 Round Bars
Inconel 600 (UNS N06600) is a nickel-chromium-iron based solid solution strengthened alloy, known for its excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and good machinability, and is widely used in industrial components in extreme environments.
Core Characteristics
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Strong resistance to gases such as chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and hydrogen fluoride, as well as nitric acid and alkaline solutions; Resistant to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking, suitable for high-purity water environments such as nuclear reactors; Stable performance in the production of organic/inorganic chlorides and fluorides.
Excellent High Temperature Resistance
Can operate continuously below 1100℃, and can still form a dense oxide film at 1200℃; Maintains high creep strength above 700℃, suitable for high-temperature, low-load parts.
Good Machinability and Weldability
Supports cold working strengthening (such as cold drawing and machining), and can be joined by resistance welding, argon arc welding, brazing, etc.; Round bars are usually delivered in solution annealed + surface polished/machined condition, with high dimensional accuracy (such as diameter tolerance h11).
Other Characteristics
Non-magnetic; Maintains good toughness at low temperatures; Stable microstructure, with no significant phase transformation after long-term aging.
Applications
- Heat treating muffles and retorts
- Vacuum furnace fixtures
- Chlorination equipment to 1000°F
- Titanium dioxide plants
Inconel 600 round bars are a "universal material" for high-temperature and corrosive environments. Their nickel-chromium-iron ternary system balances corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and machinability, making them particularly suitable for critical industrial components requiring long-term stable operation. When selecting these bars, it is important to confirm the material standard (e.g., AMS 5665, ASTM B166) and delivery condition based on specific operating conditions (e.g., temperature, medium).
