Incoloy 825® is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy enhanced with titanium, copper, and molybdenum. This carefully balanced chemistry delivers exceptional resistance to a wide range of aggressive environments—including pitting, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking. The alloy also maintains good mechanical properties from moderate to high temperatures, with a hot-working range of 1600°F to 2150°F. It offers excellent weldability across all conventional processes.
Core Material Properties
Corrosion Resistance: Outstanding performance in both reducing and oxidizing acids, highly resistant to sulfuric and phosphoric acids, seawater, and sour gas environments.
Stress-Corrosion Cracking: Highly immune to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking due to its high nickel matrix.
Fabrication: Good mechanical properties and easily formed and welded without susceptibility to intergranular attack post-welding.
Common Applications
• Chemical Processing: Equipment handling acid production, pickling operations, and chemical processing plants.
• Oil and Gas: Production piping, subsea components, and valves exposed to hydrogen sulfide and chlorides.
• Pollution Control: Flue gas scrubbing systems and acid gas removal equipment.
• Nuclear: Nuclear fuel reprocessing and radioactive waste handling.
