Composition

Alloy 601 is primarily composed of:

  • Nickel (Ni): 58-63% – Provides excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength.

  • Chromium (Cr): 21-25% – Enhances oxidation and corrosion resistance.

  • Iron (Fe): Balance – Forms the base of the alloy.

  • Aluminum (Al): 1.0-1.7% – Improves oxidation resistance by forming a protective oxide layer.

  • Other Elements: Small amounts of silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), and copper (Cu) may also be present.
